The newest challenge at Melonheadz is to use Die Cuts.  Each challenge last for 2 weeks so you have plenty of time to create a card and enter it in for a chance to win digital stamps! Come join us!

Since I have very few die cuts in my collection, I used Sizzex 8pk Circle dies.  I created this cute card using 4 different circle sizes and the adorable kitty digi's from Melonheadz. The heart patterned pink paper was actually in a 6x6" paper pad I found at Walmart for only $3.00!  It was a great buy with 100 sheets of paper inside with 20 different patterns. The statement on top reads, "You've CAT to be Kitten me right Meow!" Stamp on the bottom circle says, "You're purrfect!" I hope you enjoy this card. This one is called "Three Little Party Girls". I fussy cut each one out so you could see more of the background I created for them.

Day 7 - One stamp set, several designs

For my online card class this week at OnlineCardClasses.com, I just realized I have been using mainly 2 stamp sets. Today's class explained how multiple techniques can be used for the same stamp set to achieve very different looks on clean and simple cards.

The stamp sets I have been using are: 1) I Heart You stamp set by American Crafts  2) My Minds Eye Fine and dandy True Blue stamp set.  This card uses the cloud and sun stamp by My Minds Eye and the sentiment is from TPC Studio Rubber Stamps.

One of the techniques was Pop-Up Multi-Embossing shared by Jennifer McGuire.   I do not have clear embossing powder (yet, it's on the way!) so I used 2 different colors, silver and gold, on the sentiment.

This card will be entered in to -Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - All things bright and beautiful. - Loves Rubber Stamps - Anything Goes!

Supplies used:
  • My Minds Eye Fine and dandy True Blue stamp set
  •  65lb card stock by Pacon Creative Products
  •  Colored pigment ink squares from Tuesday Morning
  •  Core'dinations 65lb cardstock from Jo-Ann
  • Recollections Gold and Silver Embossing Powder

Day 6 - Using less supplies

The objective today was to use fewer supplies to create a clean and simple card.  I only have black and brown dye inks so far and therefore used Black Soot distress ink to create the background using a scrap piece of card stock to create the lines.

My goal was simple black and white with a hint of the pink sequins for a color pop.  The black square with white ink is backed with foam tape.

Supplies used (besides basic paper):
  • Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Black Soot
  • White pigment ink squares from Tuesday Morning
  • I Heart You stamp set by American Crafts
  • Pink Sequins
  • Ad Tech permanent adhesive tape roller
